What would you expect if you expand the 206 version of Peugeot with chiselled edges and blend its looks with the manufacturer's other models. The result is the all new Peugeot 207 - the attention seeker. What makes this car so special than its predecessors?
Peugeot 207 has appealed many car buyers with its attractively styled looks and being one of the best superminis. It's roomy, well-equipped and features a panoramic glass roof. The glass roofs come with sun blinds and can really brighten the interior giving it a classy driving experience. The interior is as beautiful as its exterior with comfy seats and elegant dash designs. Decent plastics and well-placed switchgear give the cabin a sensation of quality, with the chrome-ringed instrument dials having a stylish look to them. A cramped passenger footwell does raise right-hand-drive suspicions a little, but left-hookers were spot on, with a 'normal' relationship between controls for arms and legs. Impressive boot space underlines the 207's claim to be the grown-up supermini, with one of the biggest luggage compartments in the segment.
With respect to ride and handling Peugeot 207 doesn't disappoint its riders. Its quite comfortable on faster and longer journeys. It gives us option of three diesel and three petrol engines ranging from 1.4 litres to 1.6 litres producing 70bhp to 110bhp respectively. The more powerful 1.6 litre motor makes more noise but feels barely quicker. A long wheelbase means that it's able to effectively smooth out progress over lumpy, bumpy roads. Although the steering wheel offers good sensitivity and there's reasonable grip, although the rear wheel can be coaxed out of line in slippery corners.
